Early Childhood Educator Job in Calgary, Alberta

Thornhill Child Care Society is seeking an experienced Program Director for the ELCC Center located in Bowness Montgomery. This center provides care for children from 0-6 years of age. We are not for profit society that provides affordable, quality child care in many communities in Calgary and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate must have previous Leadership experience in administration and management in child care, a comprehensive understanding of current licensing regulations, Alberta Public Health and the Provincial Framework; FLIGHT. Strong communication skills, problem solving, critical thinking, and the ability to inspire a team of Educators are a must. Answering to the Director of Operations, the Program Director will be responsible for the day to day operations of the center and will also engage in creating and fostering relationships with Community Stakeholders, fellow management team members and create strong professional relationships with Educators, children and families. Benefits include, but are not limited to: Daily support from a Supervisor, 3 weeks vacation after 1 year of service and increases again after 5 years of service, paid sick days, and many more that can be discussed during the interview process. Monthly Salary stated does not include Provincial Wage Enhancement and will be based on education and previous leadership experience. Qualifications: Previous leadership experience is a must, as well as Certification by Alberta Staff Qualifications as a Level 3, education specifically in Early Childhood Education, current First Aid in Child Care (or be willing to obtain) and a Criminal Background Check, including the Vulnerable Sector Search. (Current within 6 months) Job Type: Full-time Salary: $4,300.00... per month Schedule: Full Time Must haves: A reliable vehicle or daily access to one The ability to work an 8 hour shift between the hours of 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM, depending on the needs of the center. Must be located in or near Calgary Alberta with the ability to commute in all weather conditions.
