Early Childhood Educator Job in Calgary, Alberta

Lumino Child Care Centre, part of Thornhill Child Care Society, is currently recruiting Early Childhood Educators for our ELCC Centre in South West Calgary. As part of our Societal vision of providing affordable, quality child care and supporting families, the center requires a full time Educator for our 3-5 year old classroom. Candidates must posses an Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree, have a fundamental understanding of the Alberta Provincial Curriculum Framework "FLIGHT: Play, Participation, Possibilities" (Emergent Curriculum) and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals supporting children with extra needs in a classroom environment. Candidates must also have the ability to work in a team environment that is diverse and supports a diverse group of children and families. Salary is between $17-$19 per hour NOT including top up and depending on, education and Staff Qualifications level. Other requirements include a current (less than 6 months old) Criminal Background Check and First Aid in Child Care or the ability to provide those. Candidates must possess Staff qualifications as CDW or CDS. Duties will include: Program planning and the implementation of an Emergent Curriculum, supporting children with extra needs in a classroom setting, open to learning and implementing a new way of program planning, class management and child appropriate discipline.
