Early Childhood Educator Job in Calgary, Alberta

Thornhill Child Care Society is currently recruiting experienced Early Childhood Educators for our VIK Academy Center, located in the town of Okotoks. The Society's vision is about supporting a diverse community of families by providing quality environments for all children to reach their full potential. The center provides child care for Infant ages through to Kindergarten Aged as well as supports and inclusive environment. The open positions currently provide support all ages, but will turn into permanent positions, age groups to be determined. Candidates must possess a fundamental understanding of Emergent Curriculum and/or be familiar with the Provincial Framework, FLIGHT and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, supporting children with extra needs in a classroom environment. Candidates must also have the ability to work in a team environment. All Candidates must possess a Level 2 or 3 Certification, specifically with education in Early Childhood Development and Early Learning. A level 1 will be considered for on-call positions. Other requirements include a current (less than 6 months old) Criminal Background Check and First Aid in Child Care or the ability to provide those. Duties will include: Program planning and the implementation of an Emergent Curriculum, supporting children with extra needs in a classroom setting, class management and child appropriate discipline. Salary is dependent on level of ECE qualifications and experience.
