Early Childhood Educator Job in Calgary, Alberta

Thornhill Child Care is currently recruiting an Early Childhood Educator to support our various locations. As part of Thornhill Child Care Society's vision of providing quality child care and supporting families, we require trained and experienced ECE Staff members to support our centers. The ideal candidates will have experience within the Early Learning and Child Care field and be certified with a minimum of a CDA (formally Level One) Staff Qualification. Candidates must have an understanding of how to support ECE's within an Early Learning and Child Care environment and experience working with children aged 0-12 years old. Candidates must have fluent spoken and written English. Duties include: Acting as support to centers when Primary Staff members are away or enhancing a classroom by being available for Teachers to plan or perform other duties. Strong classroom management and child appropriate discipline is a must as well as the ability to plan learning activities for children. Candidates must also have the ability to work collaboratively with more than one Program Director, communicating effectively with them to plan and implement the monthly schedule. Candidates must be able to work flexible hours and have daily access to a reliable vehicle. Additional duties may arise in the course of day to day activities Other qualifications include current First Aid in Child Care, a current Criminal Background Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search and the ability to work shifts between 6:30AM-6PM depending on the needs of the Centre.
