Early Childhood Educator Job in Calgary, Alberta

Our Child Care Centers located in the community of Dover SE and near Chinook in the SW, part of Thornhill Child Care Society,are currently recruiting Early Childhood Educators for our ELCC Centres. As part of our Societal vision of providing affordable, quality child care and supporting families, we are excited to have our Lumino Center chosen for the $25 a day Pilot Grant program by the province of Alberta. The centres provides child care for infants through to Kindergarten aged children and our Dover Center also provides child care for School aged children. * Candidates must posses an Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree, have a fundamental understanding of the Alberta Provincial Curriculum Framework "FLIGHT" (Emergent Curriculum) and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals supporting children with extra needs in a classroom environment. *Candidates must also have the ability to work in a team environment that is diverse and supports a diverse group of children and families. *Other requirements include a current (less than 6 months old) Criminal Background Check and First Aid in Child Care or the ability to provide those. *Candidates must be qualified with a CDW or CDS Staff Qualification and have education in Early Childhood Development. *Experience with toddlers and/or Preschool aged children is preferred. *Other duties will include: Program planning and the implementation of an Emergent Curriculum, supporting children with extra needs in a classroom setting, class management and child appropriate discipline, and/or break coverage and classroom enhancement.
