The roles and responsibilities of the Certificated Teacher, for 1st Class CISS may include, but are not limited to:  Support, screen and preliminary assessments of future children requiring Educational Supports for the school year.   Strong interpersonal skills to coach, collaborate and connect with families through IPP meetings, intakes, and kindergarten transition meetings.    Enjoys working with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver developmentally appropriate support and activities to see the child reach their highest success.   Agile and able to be physically engaged on the floor and participate in movement activities with the children.   Organized, planned, wonderful time management skills and has excellent communication skills (written, oral and listening) for documentation, parent/guardian updates and teaming purposes as well.   Punctual, accountable, and efficient.   Adaptable, energetic, charismatic and sets firm loving boundaries with children.  Additional Qualities required:  Passionate, creative, flexible, fun, and able to work in a Team environment, while leading and coordinating the Early Intervention Learning Team (Therapy and Educational Assistants).    Create, write, and facilitate each child’s Individual Program Plan (IPP) in a play based busy daycare setting in collaboration with the Early Intervention Learning Team.   Understanding of and/or work experience with Indigenous Peoples and First Nation communities.   Understanding and knowledge of the 2023/202...... Alberta Education Kindergarten Curriculum, with the ability to integrate the 7 learning areas into play, education and IPP goals.    Knowledge and experience using PASI. Technologically inclined to use Microsoft, Emails, Zoom meetings etc.   Create a handout/workshop on how to write and support an IPP document, SchoolCloud and any 1st Class CISS required documentation.   Create student caseloads between Certificated Teachers and EILT in coordination with the Operations Admin Assistant and Manager of Programming Support.  Organize, facilitate and delegate workshops and training for 1st Class CISS PD days in coordination with the Operations Admin Assistant and Manager of Programming Support.  Participate in interviews for Certificated Teachers in coordination with Human Resources and the Manager of Programming Support.   Oversee Teaching Assistants to coordinate classroom support, documentation and admin duties required.   Providing Certificated Teacher strategies, guidance, and educational programming to children within 1st Class Childcare who qualify for additional support based on standardized assessments.   Collaborating, connecting, and observing children in coordination with the Early Intervention Learning Team, families, and 1st Class Childcare Educators to write a developmentally appropriate, individualized educational plan (IPP) including the child's strengths, areas of need and targeted goals to reach success within the learning environment.   Reading contact notes of Early Intervention Learning Team members to allow for consistency, collaboration and continuity using strategies, tools, and progress.   Organize, lead, and facilitate IPP meetings with families and EILT members.   Writing Educational Impact Statements to support funding if required.   Writing Pediatrician reports or speaking with family doctors to support assessments or medications in coordination with the behavioral team/psychologist.   Build relationships, open communication, and a sense of community between 1st Class CISS staff and 1st Class Childcare staff. Building capacity within the daycare staff to see them grow and succeed at supporting all children within their program.   Mentoring and supporting Certificated Teachers and Early Intervention Learning Team to create consistency and success for the child’s educational program.  Oversee and organize a timeline of ‘Dates to Remember’ for the Certificated Teacher and EILT to have as a guideline regarding programming.   Please email morufatomokanye@1stclasschildcare for more info or apply through the link below https://....com
