Early Childhood Educator Job in Toronto, Ontario

• Previous experience working with infants to school age is an asset; • Experience developing and implementing emergent programs using the ELECT framework; • Basic computer skills are an asset (i.e. microsoft word); • Demonstrated ability to work with families in complex situations and from a variety of cultures, and differing family values and beliefs; • Able and willing to work flexible hours (between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.) – hours will need to be altered according to Centre needs; • Able and willing to work outside of centre’s operational hours (i.e. special events, professional development, attending staff meetings/workshops, etc.) as needed. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cohesive team setting; • Demonstrated leadership skills; • Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills – able to communicate positively and effectively with children, parents, staff, and management • Knowledge of the 'Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement' and Ministry of Education licensing legislation (DNA), as well at Toronto Public Health requirements and standards. • Works as well independently as in a team situation, requiring minimal supervision. Able to take initiative in daily duties and delegated tasks.
