Early Childhood Educator Job in Caledon, Ontario

This position requires a person who possesses love, patience, and respect for children. The Directress must view children as competent, curious, and capable as encouraged by the "How Does Learning Happen" document . She/he must be able to encourage the children to be independent and model for them appropriate social etiquette and behaviour. She/he will follow the child and instruct children in activities based on observation designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth by performing the following duties: - Provide the children with a “prepared environment” which includes making materials to support the individual needs within the classroom - Plan individual and/or group activities to stimulate growth of the children in social, emotional, and academic areas - Instruct children in each area of the classroom: giving presentations and lessons in each area including Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Culture - Practice adult self-regulation to prevent intervening in children's discovery - Care of the environment and of self - Identify, select, and modify work in the room to meet the needs of children with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs - Implement the progress of each child through individual lessons and record keeping (observations) - Follows Positive Discipline behaviour guidance as outlined in our school policy - Regularly communicate with families and conduct two parent/teacher per year unless additional reviews are deemed necessary - Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and coworkers - Participate in all open houses and school programs - Responsible for diaper changing and/or assisting with toileting while demonstrating respect for the child - Perform all duties required by CCEYA requirements such as opening and closing duties - Adheres to school policies and procedures - Maintains a high level of professionalism at all times - Performs other duties as assigned - Maintains knowledge, skills and abilities through on-going education and attends professional development courses and workshops - Strong communication (verbal and written) skills - Fluent in English (verbal and written) -Effective organizational, scheduling, and time management skills and able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. -Ability to observe, document and facilitate each child's learning for developmental planning Education: A MACTE-accredited Montessori ECE Diploma An Undergraduate Degree or College Diploma Mandatory Requirements: MACTE Montessori Certified Minimum 2 Years of Classroom Experience Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification Updated Immunizations and Current TB Screening Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Sector) Immediate Availability Job Type: Full-time All interested candidates, please email resumes to Sarah Minhas at ...@live.com.
