With the support of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of teachers, educational assistants, support workers and therapists, Heartland is committed to helping each child, regardless of their circumstances, reach their full potential. We are currently seeking a creative, enthusiastic and experienced full-time Site Manager to join our team. This position is based out of our Mayland Heights location, (1625 18th Street NE), and will commence as soon as possible. Position Details: The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a dynamic early intervention program for children ages 3-6. Working with at-risk children, many who have come from backgrounds of trauma, abuse, neglect and poverty, you must be able to bring laughter, understanding, and creativity with you to work each day. Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to): • Participate in all activities related to staffing procedures, including hiring, performance management, staff evaluations, information sharing and scheduling • Utilize knowledge of child development and best practice to provide modeling, coaching and mentorship to program staff • Ensure policies, procedures and practices are effectively in place to meet the standards of various governing bodies (i.e., Alberta Education, Child Care Licensing, Health & Safety, etc.) • Participate as a member of the management team to provide input into program delivery and forward-thinking initiatives • Build positive rapport with families, staff and community partners through regular communication; communicate effectively with parents, caregivers and supporting agencies as part of EvenStart’s holistic approach • Oversee the in-home support program; identify and assess the needs of high-risk families together with the Family Support Worker • Oversee intake and registration • Oversee day-to-day operational requirements (i.e., staff absences, coverage needs, daily paperwork, etc.) Qualifications and Requirements: • Degree or Diploma in human/child services is preferred (i.e., education in early learning, management, child care, etc.); related education and/or experience may be considered, with a focus on demonstrated skills and experience leading teams • Experience with a special needs population as well as awareness of Trauma Informed Practice is an asset, • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Strong leadership and time management skills • Ability to work in a fast passed, team environment • Alberta Child Care Certification (can be obtained upon hire within a designated time frame) • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to obtain a Class 4 license • First aid certification & criminal record check with vulnerable sector check (can be obtained upon hire within a designated time frame) Interested applicants are encouraged to submit an updated resume and cover letter via email.
