Some split shifts are required. • Location: Calgary SE • Training: Additional training opportunities through LinkedIn, AHS (Alberta Health Services), Alberta Child Services, SACDA (School Age Care Directors Association), and more. $20 hourly plus top-up REQUIREMENTS: · Preferred Experience: At least one year in a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities (Childcare, pre-k, kindergarten, day home, group care with children). • Education: Childcare CDS, Standard First Aid, Proof of Criminal Record Check with a vulnerable sector search. Flight Framework, Emergent curriculum, Positive Guidance, Child Development, Licensing Practices, and Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP). • Characteristics: This is a leadership position, so you should be self-motivated, have effective communication skills, and be decisive and passionate. It is also a creative role, so you must be open to personal and professional growth and constructive feedback. Strong administration skills in training, mentoring and fostering abilities with other educators to collaborate in their work and experience. • Food Preparation/ Kitchen Experience: Ability to use the Canada Food Guide to prepare food for children and be aware of dietary requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Empowering children to grow, be positive and develop through meaningful interactions and empowering staff through training and mentoring. • Always Supervise the safety of children and staff through monitoring and documentation. • Delegating clear and concise expectations to other staff members to guarantee effective programming, safety, and cleanliness. • Implementing engaging and purposeful activities and programming daily. • Communicating concisely with the owner, families, educators, community organizations, and the school, maintaining strong community connections.
