Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

My experience with children is different with each child as they all have their own personality.But it is always rewarding.The most important thing is to earn the trust of not only the parent but the child as well which requires me to have a lot of patience and understanding. For example there is a toddler I know who doesn\\\\\\\'t take well to new people but I happened to know he likes cars and he was in his room playing with them. I sat down on the floor with him and played with one of his cars as well as making the sound a car would make and he liked it. He also started making the same sound and this how we created our bond. I also have enjoyed taking kids outdoors to get fresh air, play in the park or stay indoors and do arts and crafts, help them with numbers and colours or just play games. It is not always this easy of course as I have encountered children who want to be difficult but it is a challenge I don\\\\\\\'t mind taking on. I explain to them why they are in trouble and that they need a time out. Not all of them accept this explanation, some will throw a fit but I have learned that if you ignore this kind of behaviour they will realize eventually that it does not work and will behave themselves. I enjoy the experience. There is something to learn everyday.
