As the R.E.C.E.: You can plan, develop, and implement programs using HDLH and ELECT that reflect children's interest and respond to diverse individual and cultural needs. You have the ability to plan and implement exciting, challenging, and diverse activities while also adhering to the physical distancing policies and procedures re: COVID-19. You must be able to observe and assess children's progress and behavior to ensure the programs meet the needs of the individual and the group. You Must be able to document observations in a clear, concise, anti- biased manner. You are willing to work with outside agencies / parents to support the children’s learning. You are willing to work a split shift 7am -9 am and 2pm – 6pm. You must demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, and support to the children and families. You must support, comfort and encourage children who are experiencing difficulties and help them to understand and handle their feelings. You can guide and assist children in the development of independent self-help skills. You will Participate in regular virtual staff meetings, virtual training, and related activities both internal and external including annual performance appraisals. You are a respectful communicator with children, parents, colleagues, teachers, managers, students, and volunteers. You have Sound knowledge of Emergent curriculum and the ability to plan and implement a daily program. You have experience with planning / implementing a full day summer program for children ages 3.8 yrs. to 12 yrs. You are attentive to, and provide for, the health and safety needs of the children. You must be able to form positive relations with children. You must be able to work as a member of a centre team with strong leadership and interpersonal skills. You Must be able to build / maintain professional relationships with Principals, teachers, and caretaking in a school-based setting. You must be able to work as a member of a team to ensure continuity of curriculum and a high standard of quality, in all classrooms in the centre. You have strong Behaviour Guidance techniques. You must be able to evaluate the effectiveness of the classroom and the programme on an ongoing basis to ensure it meets the needs of the individual child and the group as a whole. You must represent the programme in a professional manner. You must be able to multi-task and be resourceful and organized. You must be comfortable with technology (iPad, iPhone, Microsoft word / excel, Google Docs /Sheets / forms, internet.)
