Early Childhood Educator Job in Mississauga, Ontario

Position: The primary focus of a STEM Teacher is to teach Engineering for Kids programs. STEM Teachers are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 4-14, although not all instructors are required to teach all age groups. Role & Responsibilities: • Led groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided activities • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment • Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures • Travel to our various partner's locations in the Peel area with a mobile classroom • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies • Adequately prepare for each program by reading the curriculum and participating in training sessions • Handle inquiries from parents regarding Engineering for Kids programs • Encourage students and parents to enroll students in future Engineering for Kids programs • Participate in periodic training & staff meetings Programs: • Weekday after-school, evening classes and camps • Weekday school hours • Weekend workshops We Offer: • An inclusive and positive culture • Flexible schedules and work/life balance • Work with children who are excited about STEM • Build your teaching portfolio through diverse lesson plans and curriculum Qualifications: • Completion of ECE certification • Flexible availability • Valid drivers license to travel between locations • Preferred CPR-C certified and High-Five Certified This position is part-time.
