I have enjoyed working with children for the past 10 years. They bring a warm, happy feeling to anyone\\\'s day. I worked with an autistic child for 2 years. We were in the preschool room. It was a challenge as he was a very tall and string boy. We worked well together. He needed assistance in all daily routines.

I have worked with various age groups from infants-school age in day care, before and after school, as a nanny and summer/march break camps. During my career I have worked with special needs kids in my class, as well I was a support facilitator. I have also taken the resource teaching program at college.

I have work in a variety of childcare settings with all age groups. Have worked with handicapped children, autistic children and high behaviour children.

All children learn in a different way. By observing their behvaiours we can productively find ways to teach and help them understand different skills. I believe children with special needs have extraordinary abilities, and with patience, love and consistency these children flourish.
