Early Childhood Educator Job in Toronto, Ontario

DOVER GARDENS NURSERY SCHOOL R.E.C.E TEACHER Dover Gardens Nursery School is looking for a new E.C.E Teacher to assume responsibility for day to day operations in September. The ECE Teacher is responsible for program planning, working effectively with staff, working with children and families, connecting with the community and administrative responsibilities related to the operation of Dover Gardens. The ECE Teacher is responsible for providing leadership in keeping with Dover Gardens' program statement and Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT). This is a part time position located at Dovercourt Public School. Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 1:30 pm throughout the elementary school year. Dover Gardens is a non-profit school and operates on the cooperative model. The school is run by an Executive Board consisting of parents. The E.C.E Teacher reports to the E.C.E Supervisor who reports to the parent Coordinator who leads the Board. Salary is $18 with potential benefits. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES • Plans and implements daily and monthly programming that meets the developmental, social, emotional and physical needs of each child and reflects the Dover Gardens Program Statement • Upholds all licensing requirements as established by the City of Toronto, and the Ontario Child Care and Early Years Act of 2014 • Maintains a safe and healthy environment for children and creates a relaxing and welcoming classroom atmosphere • Creates and maintains all records on children in the program • Builds a positive rapport with parents, co-workers, families, care givers, community members and acts as a collaborative resource for families to create positive opportunities for growth REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: • Formal training in Early Childhood Education and a current member of the Ontario College of Early Childhood Education • 1 years experience in the child care profession • Current Criminal Record Check • Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Certificate • Food handler’s certificate To apply for this position please submit a cover letter and resume to the Dover Gardens Coordinator at [email protected].
