Early Childhood Educator Job in Brampton, Ontario

Responsibilities • Educator is responsible for the care and education of a group of children as part of a teaching team and functions as a team leader or co-leader. • Plan, organize, and implement quality early learning activities that reflect children’s interests for children in the toddler and preschool age groups. • Educator plans and implements curriculum and, with active participation of other members of the teaching team, works with parents, and assesses the strengths and needs of individual children. • Responsible for following and implementing all policies and procedures created by the child care. • Conduct observations and assessments of children’s progress and behaviour to ensure program meets individual and group needs. • Implement Individual Program Plans and ensure an inclusive environment. • Plan and implement the program for the class in accordance with the policies, procedures and philosophy of the child care. • Support children express their feelings using developmentally appropriate strategies. • Conduct assessments and maintain daily records of life within the classroom. • Plan and implement parent meetings throughout the year. • Responsible for the children’s welfare and safety at all times. • Guide and assist children in developing independent eating, dressing, and toileting skills. • Conduct washroom, lunchtime, and sleep routines. • Attend staff meetings and occasional special events. • Must complete professional development throughout the year. • Responsible for making sure your room and equipment is sanitized, organized, professional looking. • Ensure ratios are being met at all times. • Perform other duties as required by the centre Supervisor. Qualifications • Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education. • Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators. • Previous experience with children in a Child Care setting. • Current criminal reference and vulnerable sector check 6 months current to hiring date. • Up-to-date First Aid and CPR training. • Up to date immunization record. • Knowledge of and be able to meet the requirements of the Early Years Child Care Act. • Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen document. • Knowledge of best practices in the Early Childhood Education field. • Fluent in English. • Able to work all shifts between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. • Peel Public Health requires Staff who move from different classrooms to be fully vaccinated.
