Early Childhood Educator in Scarborough, Ontario

I had the privilege of travelling to Peru to provide support and educated children residing in Altos De Los Mores. Within the village I completed various duties, which included supporting young children and their families. Within the education setting, I developed and facilitated lessons plans and ran after school programs. These after school programs had the ultimate goal of allowing children to enhance their social skills through various activities. Furthermore, these programs provided relief to family members within the community. \r\n\r\nIn addition, i\'m entering my seventh year running an after school program in Toronto for children between the ages of 10-13. I hold the position of facilitating group games. I am currently working in Respite Services at the Geneva Centre for Autism. This position has allowed me to broaden my understanding of Autism through client interactions. Geneva Centre for Autism has given me the ability to learn various techniques, which I utilize to support individuals with autism on a weekly basis. Specifically, with the understanding of children, and adolescents’ unique needs I have been able to facilitate the implementation of interventions, which promote the development of social skills, communication skills, and general life skills. In addition, I communicate with parents to discuss their child’s needs and progress within the respite program. I am comfortable under pressure working with children and have the patience and desire to assist and support youth who are in need of care.
