Early Childhood Educator in Surrey, British Columbia

I have worked in the preschool and day care field for over 30 years. I have done all levels of work including preschool, day care, school aged care and infant toddler. I also have my special needs training. My experience includes supervising centres as well as working as a teacher in various classrooms. I really enjoy working in groups and enjoying that 'aha' moment that young children have as they learn and then master a new skill. I enjoy getting to know each individual child and their family. I truly believe that the family have an important role to play in the care of their child. They choose the type of care they want for their child and they support their child in learning new skills. I believe that children learn by doing and by experiencing academic and social skills. Reading and playing games are an important part of early education. Early skills are learned as children experience these skills in a supportive environment. Children develop at different rates but early education helps all children reach their goals. Early education provides a chance for children of all abilities to gain milestones in development. It provides these skills in a fun environment where the child may not realise that they are in fact learning. A key ingredient in early learning is fun. Children who are having fun learn more. This fun can be structured to develop the skills you want children to master. Early Childhood Education is an important part of the development of any child. A young child learns to walk, talk, and get along socially. They develop many readiness skills before they reach school age. I enjoy playing a role in this early learning, helping every child reach their potential.
