Early Childhood Educator in Red Deer, Alberta

I am passionate about working with people that have challenges. I have put off my learning to care for and develop my three exceptional children and have recently completed all my courses and practicums to become a full SLPA. I now feel confident in taking this step forward. My eldest son Justin, age 19, is completely deaf and moderately on the autistic spectrum, my middle daughter Victoria, age 17, is hard of hearing, and is mildly on the autistic spectrum while my youngest son Joshua, age 15, is hard of hearing, and not on the spectrum. My children have been able to accomplish amazing things due to early childhood intervention by trained professionals, myself and my husband, as well as, their awesome work ethic. My philosophy regarding teaching is, if you teach a child that they can’t, they won’t. However, if you teach them that they can, they will. My children are doing exceptionally well in school, in band, and enjoy a huge array of extra curricular activities proving this philosophy works. I believe in reaching people in their learning style and using their strengths to bolster their abilities in areas where they experience difficulties. I feel that my unique life experience and education make me an excellent candidate for the position. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you, making a difference in my chosen field.
