Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

As an early Childhood Educator my responsibility is to support children development through knowledge of child development, programming, relationships, and related areas and provide safe and secure environment where learning can happen automatically and consistently while children are engage in different activities and play. Because play allows children to create alternatives to the way thing are. It open up possibilities for new ways of doing things, visiting the past, outer space, under the sea, or the future, as well as rearranging the present. As an Early Childhood Educator my responsibility is to allow children to do experiment, explore their environment, compare things, and find new ways of life. Experiments bring flexibility of thinking and improve creativity in children. Children cannot be forced to learn; it is not good for them because it effects their biological development. Children are active learner and they will love to choose to play if we create an atmosphere which makes them feel safe and secure, and give them challenge to do something. Every child is born with a healthy measure of internal motivation to learn. They are also very curious about what happens around them. My responsibility at this point is put my positive attitude toward children. The function of early childhood education is to raising sensible, self-supporting, well-informed children who investigate and discover the world. I should always be around them to scaffold their questions. I believe the difference of each child and know the stages of child growth and development and learning activities in regarding the developmental stages. I will follow the theory of active learning for children which look at the child as an Active learnerand#8221; by preparing developmentally appropriate hand on experiences, preparing materials and let them to do experiences, manipulate and encourage them to solve their problems by themselves. I try to work based on the curriculum which would be engaging and innovative. I will prepare lots of learning activities in order to increase language and communication, social and emotional, science and mathematics, gross and fine motor and cognitive skills by doing appropriate activities and asking open ended questions. I believe children need to be a safe and engaging environment which contains child sized furniture, using natural plants, lights with interesting and familiar atmosphere for children. This environment must have enough spaces for all learning areas as well as outdoor and indoor activities. The roles of teacher in a good philosophy is creating a positive communication with children let them do the choices and offer them all activities based of childrens interest. Teacher will be such kind of partner through this journey of education and be trustworthy, responsible, and dependable with other teachers, and will have good communication with parents, be involved with them, because as we know parent are the first teacher of their own children. In addition, Child guidance is not just about helping children stop inappropriate behaviours, more importantly; it is about helping children learn appropriate behaviours. So I will try to use positive thinking skill and will reinforce appropriate behavior by self modeling and scaffolding. In conclusion, I will try to create a classroom as Home For The Mind, where children will be able to solve problems, set their own goals, carry out their own plans, work together, able to create new things and ideas; explore and apply their experiences,; will able to solve their problem by themselves with little guidance and will have lots of love and care that will help them to survive in critical situations in their future; and will develop high self-esteem in order to become successful person.
