Early Childhood Educator in Kitchener, Ontario

I have 6 Years experience within the daycare field. I have worked with children of all ages. I am also a mother of 3. I have Planned age appropriate indoor/outdoor activities using a variety of materials and equipment to develop and enhance coordination, cognitive and social skills, creativity, and self-expression, Iv Provided and supervised a safe and healthy environment for children 15 months-9 years, while always Encouraging children in activities, such as dancing, singing, and rhythmic activities, to promote self-expression and appreciation. I have Observed children to detect signs of ill health or emotional disturbance, evaluated progress and forwarded observations to appropriate authority. During this time I always encouraged verbal skills in young toddlers by asking for their feedback during reading, singing and craft activities. I assisted in helping to stimulate children in all key areas of learning: science, math, reading and the arts by providing a variety of activities daily in each area such as science experiments, group and individual activities in counting objects, reading individually and during circle time. Always communicated effectively with parents daily to create relationships based on trust and mutual respect encouraging them to ask for support when needed. I was able to balance large-group, small-group, and individual instructions to accommodate different academic levels and learning styles, I positively communicated and collaborated with colleagues and members of the team. I was able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toileting habits. I assessed the skills, abilities, interests and needs of children, Attended workshops to develop and discuss new teaching methods. I assisted children with homework and school work.\r\nI helped support children\'s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts. During this time I kept records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered, Instructed children in health and personal habits such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
