Early Childhood Educator in Waterloo, Ontario

My experience with children starts before my college program; it began in high school when I played on the basketball team and we ran a camp to teach young girls and boys basketball skills and team building activities. In college, I worked with Pre-School and School Age children. I was placed at John Darling Childcare centre twice, once at Driftwood Childcare Centre and lastly, at the YMCA JW Gerth centre. After college, I worked for the Conestoga College lab schools with Pre-School and School Age children. I worked at John Darling, Glencairn and Driftwood. After that, I worked for a french day care, La Petite Ecole Francophone, in the Pre-School and School Age programs. In high school, I was in a special needs gym class that would do physical activities, sports and swimming alongside the special needs children. During one of my co-op placements in college, I worked in a centre that had many special needs children, mostly autism. I have worked at a summer camp with a child that had fifths disease, myself and one other co-worker would work alongside him as he needed constant supervision. Also, at one of my positions as an ECE in a day care, we worked with a little girl that had selective mutism, she didn't speak often but she expressed herself artistically with drawing.
