Early Childhood Educator in Ottawa, Ontario

I have been a Casual supply with the OCDSB for 2 years and have worked full time in a full school year term position since September 2016. I have enjoyed the experience of working for the Board and working alongside teachers to create a engaging learning environment for all children. Before that, I worked with 3-4 year olds "getting ready" for kindergarten. I also ran a compIete summer program (which included "special days" almost every day and 1 field trip a week). At the beginning of my career, straight out of graduation, I begun working at The Children's Place locations at Carling (24 hour centre) and Kanata (Monday-Friday) for almost 6 years. At this centre I have had the privilege of working with all age groups (primarily infants and toddlers). At all centres, all employees are trained to work with the Special Needs children we have enrolled. I have worked with children who are globally delayed, children with Down's Syndrome, children who are on all areas of the Autism Spectrum and children with all different behavioural needs.
