Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

Dear Viewer, I am a recent graduate of the Early Childhood Education Program at George Brown College at Ryerson University. I am eager to begin, what I know will be, a rewarding career working with children. My background speaks to my eagerness and experience. During my time at Concordia University, while taking my Bachelor of Arts, I majored in Sociology. I have always enjoyed working with and helping others. During my University summer months, I enjoyed working as a Nanny for a family in my hometown of Oakville, Ontario. Following my schooling at Concordia, I discovered my passion for Culinary Arts. Eventually, with a lot of hard work, I became the owner and operator of my own boutique style Catering and Event Management business – Lacey Catering. While I was proud of my work, I knew that I wanted to spend more time helping people, rather than just feeding them. I knew I would enjoy working with children but, it was not until I successfully completed my first of four field placements, through George Brown’s ECE Program, that I realized how truly fulfilling it is to be an Early Childhood Educator. I am fascinated by children, their development, the capacity of the human brain and most of all, by the power of education. My passion for the field combined with my personal, professional and educational experiences set me apart in school and make me an asset in the classroom. I am confident that I will be valued by children, families and staff, not only as an educator, but as a member of the team.
