I enjoy working with all ages of children. I understand that every child is different and needs care specific to their needs. I make sure that I am respecting the children at all times, that I am fair and that I followup with the decisions that I make, be it consequences or rewards. I also understand that ever child is at a different developmental level and some may need more attention than others. This would require making strong connections with the child and their parents, but also to document and follow through to keep track of their development and to choose strategies and activities that help that child. I have not had a lot of experience one on one with a special needs child, however, I do understand that they need to be included in the program with the other children as much as possible. I understand it is very important to document every day and to work side by side with specialist.
