We are currently recruiting for: Registered Early Childhood Educator - Before and After School Program for our child care centres in York Region and Simcoe County. - Employment Terms: August 29th, 2022 - June 30th, 2023 - Hours of Work Per Week: 25 hours per week with the possibility of additional supply hours - Must be available to work a split shift (7-9am and 3-6pm) - Salary: starting at $23.50 per hour plus Wage Enhancement Responsibilities and Duties - To plan and implement an age appropriate program indoors and outdoors meeting the requirements of “How Does Learning Happen” and the 4 foundations - To create a professional and positive image for the Agency on a daily basis - To have a working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act and be in compliance with the Policies and Procedures of the Agency - To work as a member of a team which includes other staff, parents, community and the Agency - To share in the care and housekeeping tasks of the Centre - To grow and improve in the knowledge and skills required for the job - To create an inclusive environment where each child and family is valued Skills and Qualifications - Diploma in Early Childhood Education or OCT/CYW - Registered and in good standing with the College of ECEs Ontario - Experience working with children JK to 12 years of age - Recent Vulnerable Sector Check - A valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate - Up to date immunizations including proof of full COVID-19 vaccination - Familiar with "How Does Learning Happen?" would be an asset - Strong programming and communications skills - Strong knowledge of child development - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Comfortable interacting with and supporting families and community members - Ability to actively participate in the outdoor program in inclement weather - Physically able to lift and/or assist with the moving of a child, the moving of supplies or equipment Compensation & Benefits - Salary based on experience - Reimbursement of College of ECE membership fees - Paid personal days - Birthday day off - Group benefits - Exciting Professional Development Opportunities - Fun Team building events - Welcoming and inclusive workplace - Collaborative and forward-thinking work environment - Ongoing anti-oppression, equity and diversity at all levels - Agency anniversary recognition - Commitment to nature-based learning - Agency camp facilities enhance experiences for educators and programs - Programs are supported with tools and equipment for a professional environment Application If you are interested in applying for a position at YPCE, please send your cover letter and resume to hr @ ypce .com.
