QUALIFICATIONS: • Must have a valid Early Childhood Education Diploma and be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educator and 3-5 years of supervisory experience • Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of the Child Care and early Years Act • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills • Have and demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational, supervisory and interpersonal skills. • Demonstrated skills in program planning for children / youth • Successful track record in community development • Demonstrated knowledge of community issues and program issues • Ability to set and manage a budget • Success in revenue generation, including grant and proposal writing • Flexible and able to work as part of a team as well as independently • Have and demonstrate good judgment • Knowledge of HIGH FIVE Principals of Healthy Child Development training an asset • Able to attend and facilitate team meetings • Must be able to work various shifts of days, afternoons, evenings and weekends • Proficiency with MS Office Applications including but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook • Working from a feminist, anti-oppressive /anti-racist perspective • Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset • Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police Check or willingness to obtain at own cost • Must have current Standard First Aid or willingness to obtain at own cost • Attend and participate in mandatory training such as but not limited to WHMIS, Anti-Racism Anti Oppression Training (AR/AO), and Health and Safety Training As part of YWCA Hamilton’s commitment to Access and Equity, we strive to represent the diverse communities that we serve.
