Early Childhood Educator in Calgary, Alberta

I graduated as a qualified teacher from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal, in the field of Visual and Technological Education (equivalent to British Bachelor honours degree) in 2005. The course included a 2 year training; educational psychology, artistic expression, classroom pedagogy and teaching in arts. I have one year of experience teaching children (from ages 5 to 14 years) where my role included planning and delivering lessons, mainly in Visual and Technological Arts. I hold a strong command of visual and technological education, and have an ability to access and use classroom relevant research and inspection evidence to improve teaching and learning. I also have three years experience teaching students with Special Education Needs. Throughout this employment I had to plan and deliver differentiated art lessons, often bespoke to individual students and their needs. This included topics such as: Recycled Materials, Oil Painting, Acrylic Painting, Decoupage and 3D constructions. I recently moved to Calgary. I have work permit and I am willing to work in my area of expertise and with children. I am always willing to learn more. I am available to work as soon as possible.
