Early Childhood Educator in Hamilton, Ontario

I have 11 years experience working with children in various daycare settings. My experiencs began as a camp counsellor as a teen, which sparked my interest in the ECE field. I then completed the OYAP course for ECE in high school and continued completing my diploma through the apprenticeship program at Mohawk College. I have worked fulltime as an RECE since graduating in 2008 and have programmed using the Emergent Curriculum for the last2 years. As a new mother my love for children has only grown more and I am eager to get back in the field and exercise my skills as an ECE. As an ECE I have helped many children with varying capabilities and worked in teams with other ECE's, Resource teachers and Occupational Therapists to plan and implement IPP.I have attended multiple school entry meetings for many of the special needs children I have provided care for. I have 1.5 years experience as a Support Facilitator in the classroom working with autistic twins and their family. I attended monthly meetings to discuss and plan goals for the children, as well as advocated on their behalf at school entry meetings.
