Early Childhood Educator in Georgetown, Ontario

Hello, I am currently seeking full time employment within the Registered Early Childhood Education field. I have recently completed training within the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program otherwise known as (OYAP) for an Early Childhood Practitioner certificate. I have recently completed my Early Childhood Educator diploma as well as the apprenticeship certificate as an Child Development Practitioner. The experience I have received through apprenticeship training over the last few years has been rewarding as well as benefiticial; I support saying that as I have the opportunity to participate in the job training while getting familiar with daily practices and policies of centres and also the Ontario ministry of education. The benefits of participating in the Ontario youth apprenticeship program is receiving the opportunity to be employed while completing apprenticeship hours, also beneficial in completing credits towards the Early Childhood Education Diploma. I have learned to adapt and adjust from theme based curriculums to emergent curriculum which has been recently implemented; I still see myself growing each day as I implement new activities with the children and attend workshops provided through the THRC (The Halton Resource Community Centre). I have worked in a childcare centre for 6 years with ages ranging from infants to school age; it has been a very rewarding experience communicating with parents, children and staff members of the different locations that I have been privileged to work at. I have had the opportunity to experience planning and implementing activities into the programs of many age groups as well as completing developmental goals for individual children in care. In my current workplace, I have taken on the responsibilities of planning and implementing age appropriate activities, completing developmental goals for individual children and seeking mature open communication with my team to benefit the program. I have also taken an interest in documentation and workshop, linking it within the How does learning happen document as well as ELECT and think, feel, act resource. My social and friendly nature results in carrying forward the ability of connecting with children and adults from diverse backgrounds. I value the task of building parent-teacher involvement, which I believe is very important as part of working as an Early Childhood Educator. Children’s health and safety is always at the forefront of my mind. I am currently trained with first aid/CPR and also have an up to date criminal record check.
