EARLY CHILDHOOD ASSISTANTS NEEDED FOR PART TIME AND SPLIT SHIFT POSITIONS AT MCKEE MCKIDS ENRICHMENT CENTRE We are a non-profit school-based childcare operator in the North York area. We provide quality early learning and care for children from 31 months to 11 years of age. We are currently looking to hire 2 Early Childhood Assistants from November 2017 for 8-month contract positions with the possibility of extension. We are looking for professional Early Childhood Assistants who are passionate about excellence in childcare. Required: Clear vulnerable sector screen (recent within 6 months) Ability to work fulltime on PA days, March Break and Winter Break if needed Experience working with children in an emergent environment Able to program creatively in a play-based, emergent environment, supportive of children and their families A strong work ethic Able to produce assessments, evaluations and document using ELECT Computer skills necessary Understanding of all legislation and standards, including the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen and Children's Services Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement Ability to be flexible, to show initiative and work independently adhering to centre policies Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork English communication skills both verbal and written including grammar are necessary Sensitivity to the needs of diverse communities and ability to speak another language is an asset Experience working with children in a childcare environment Submit a resume, complete with a detailed covering letter.
