Early childhood educator in East York, Ontario

My name is Nusrat and I am a Canadian citizen. I am an enthusiastic individual and have the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment. I am interested in working in your setting as an early childhood educator. I am an independent self-motivated individual with strong communication skills and able to establish rapport with members of the staff, parents as well as students.

I am an active and dedicated individual with strong organizational skills. I am honest as well as empathetic and I enjoy working with children and their families. These qualities have enabled me to be an effective teacher as well as an effective leader.
I have worked as a voluntary coordinator in a community based program for parents of children from 0-3 years. The program was to guide parents and assist them in promoting holistic development of their child. I was responsible for conducting informational sessions for parents and children related to different aspects of development. I worked closely with voluntary health workers and assisted them in reaching out to parents so as to educate the parents on various health issues.

I have been teaching in early childhood settings since 1994 in different multicultural environments as well as in an IB school. I started off as a classroom teacher, my will power, determination, integrity and strong beliefs about children’s learning gave me the opportunity to take on challenging leadership roles. I am passionate about teaching and learning and am an excellent team player and am able to lead enthusiastically through example.

While staying in Tanzania I worked at an IB school as well as completed a degree in special education with the Open University of Tanzania. I strongly believe in professional development and am now enrolled with University of Nicosia in an on-line masters program in Educational Administration and leadership.
