HIGHLIGHTS OF QUALIFICATIONS • ECE Diploma graduate from George Brown College-2011 with over 4 years of experience in an educational setting and licensed child care centres. • Current registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators • Current First Aid and CPR certification with ability to respond to emergencies • Experience working with all age groups (Infant, Toddler, Preschool, JK/SK and School Age children) • Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate programs • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills • Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous and professional manner with children, parents, staff and the general public • Ability to supervise and assist children with daily needs • Ability to cooperate and follow instructions while applying confidentiality to sensitive or discreet issues in an appropriate and timely manner • Strong organization and time management skills • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Day Nurseries Act, Child and Family Services Act and ability to meet the specifications of these acts and any other related regulations that apply to this work. • Physically fit with the ability to lift/carry children and equipment • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities, cultures and ethnic backgrounds • Highly reliable, responsible, valued team member • Accomplished classical Indian Dancer; received community recognition and school awards • Fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi RELEVANT WORK SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Participates in the planning, and implementation of developmentally appropriate programs to enhance the children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development in accordance with the Day Nurseries Act • Thoughtfully incorporates learning experiences designed to meet the individual and group needs of children. Accompanies children to destinations in the community and on field trips • Provides thorough input for the evaluation of programs • Skillfully observes children's progress and behaviour.
