February 24, 2017 To Whom It May Concern: I am an enthusiastic and experienced individual who has had over 8 years of experience as an elementary school teacher from Europe, prior to earning my Bachelor of Education at Niagara University in 2013. My passion for the teaching profession is always a driving force to ensure that the individual needs of my students are always being met. During my previous job experiences and field placements, I have had the opportunity to work with students of varying grade levels and abilities. As part of an interdisciplinary team, I collaborated with colleagues to develop cross-curricular lesson plans to ensure equitable practices and inclusiveness for all of my students. I believe my knowledge, strong people-skills, and my ability to adapt to rapidly changing demands makes me a strong candidate for an elementary teaching position within the Toronto District School Board. Over the years, my experience working with special needs students developed a new passion within me. This past year, I enrolled in and completed an additional qualification course, Special Education-Part 1. This course has allowed me to gain further insight to the unique strategies required to meet the needs of our special needs students and ultimately, help to ensure maximum success. I am currently working as an on-call Toronto District School Board Lunchroom Supervisor. This position allows me to stay connected to not only students and faculty but also, the policies and procedures around safety in schools. In my role, I help to maintain a safe environment for students during their lunch hour. My position always requires me to help and manage crisis situations in a professional and calm manner.
