Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

Currently I am an instructor within the Education Program at the Design Exchange. At the DX, I instruct youth ages 6-18 on the foundations of design, including industrial design, furniture design, fashion design as well as innovative artistic tools and techniques. In this role, I have developed lesson plans, given presentations, and conducted group activities for youth in both classroom \\r\\nsettings, of up to 50 students, as well as sessional camp programs, such as the DX Kids March Break design camp. I also have experience working as an Aupair in Marbella, Spain for a family of two young children. In this role, I was responsible for assisting with household chores and teaching the Spanish children the English language. Additionally, I have work and volunteer experience working with children for community-centric organizations such as the YMCA as well as childrens after school programs such as the Bell Youth Raptorball Program. A recent program in which I have been involved is a Design Exchange partnership with the CAMH LEARN Network, a \\r\\ncommunity-based service helping young adults through stages of a psychosis recovery process. In the LEARN program, I led art and design workshops, instructing students on design principles as well as tools and \\r\\ntechniques, contributing to their knowledge of aesthetics and creative confidence. Moreover, through CAMH I have received training in \\\'Accommodation & Communication\\\' for youth living with mental illness and psychosis. Additionally, I have experience working with children with special needs in the YMCA Adaptive Aquatics program, a program focused on building healthy habits within families dealing with challenges of weight and inactivity.
