Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

Through my educational practicum placements and volunteer experience I have worked with children aged 1 1/2 to 14 years. I completed a practicum placement in a toddler classroom at the Child Care & Learning Centre in Guelph where I took on a leadership role in planning and leading small group activities as well as area set ups. I also completed a practicum placement at Better Beginnings in Guelph at the Shelldale Community Centre where I lead programs for children aged 2-5 years including Early Literacy, Sensory Explosion, and Kindergarten Readiness. Additionally, I have volunteered for the past 4 years with a not-for-profit organization called Solidarity in Action in Peru where I have lead after-school programs for children aged 2-14 years of age in a local community. Through these experiences I have greatly enhanced my leadership skills and my naturally gentle manner with children, youth, and families of all ages. I have also had extensive experience through my part-time employment of the past 7 years where I have hosted children's birthday parties for groups of up to 20 children ages 4-10 years of age. I have not had much experience working with children with special needs I have volunteered in a school for children with exceptionalities through my volunteer work. During this time I served as an assistant to the teacher in the classroom in activities and behaviour management.
