Early Childhood Educator in Thornhill, Ontario

I have an extensive amount of experience working with children, mainly in a recreational setting but I highly enjoy educating as well. I have been babysitting for the past 10 years, with ages ranging anywhere from 7 months to 12 years. From 2004 to 2008 I worked as a summer camp counsellor in 3 different day camps, planning and leading educational and recreational programs, activities, and outings for children aged 4 - 14. In 2011 to 2012 I worked in a day care in British Columbia full time for 5 months during the ski season, working with children from all over the world aged 18 months - 6 years. I was one of 3 - 5 day care attendants responsible for 12 - 20 children. Duties included program and activity planning, meal preparation, putting children down for naps, changing diapers, and outdoor supervision. More recently, for the winter of 2012 - 2..., I worked for Whistler Kids Ski School in Whistler, BC as a "Den Mother". My duties included assisting ski instructors with difficult children in ski lessons, children that were extremely upset due to separation anxiety, sick or injured children, or just supervising/entertaining children who were too cold to be outside. These children ranged from ages 3 - 10. I have cared for children with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and mild autism. I have been described as very caring and patient.
