Early Childhood Educator in Richmond, British Columbia

I have many years of experience with children. \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nI began babysitting when I was 12 years old for family friends and neighbours. I babysat regularly throughout high school for several families, 2 or 3 times a week, and for 3 summers I worked as a councillor at a summer camp for children aged 2-5.\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nMy mother had a baby when I was 15, so I became very experienced in taking care of her, which also led me to more babysitting opportunities with infants and toddlers, through my mothers\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' friends. \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nWhen I was in the Early Childhood Education Program, I did many practicums with children. When I was a camp councillor at age 13, there was one child who had extra support needs. This was the first time I had ever worked with a child who needed extra support. \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nThere is a family that I have babysat for a few years, who has a child diagnosed with ASD. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve babysat him many times. \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nIn a centre that I did one of my school practicums in, and worked as a sub in, there were three children who had extra support needs. I became very good at positive guidance, and problem solving.
