During my time at Humber College, I was fortunate enough to work at different nursery schools as a part of my course curriculum. This gave me the opportunity to interact with infants to kindergarten children to children with special needs. This involvement provided me with the necessary tools and experience to successfully attain my early childhood education diploma. *Infant (2011 Oct.24-Dec.16) -Responded to each childs needs and feelings through understanding individual routines, verbal and non-verbal cues, temperament styles, abilities, and cultures -Reported written documentation of each infants bottles, meals, diapering and naps. -Encouraged childrens development in the areas of building self-confidence and problem solving by providing sense of comfort and security -Provided positive guidance to infants using baby sign languages and different tones of voice *Preschool (2010.Sep.20-Nov.30) -Responsible for assisting children with eating, dressing and toileting -Established positive relationships with children, families, and team -Participated in program planning -Created responsive and inclusive indoor and outdoor environments to promote childrens development *Kindergarten (2010 June11-July28) -Observed children and planned, implemented, and evaluated responsive planning -Followed health and safety practices by demonstrating cleaning and sanitizing -Responsible for serving snacks and meals, arranging rooms and cots -Maintained confidentiality *Children with special needs(2011.Jan 26-April.14) -Developed the knowledge, skills and attitudes to work effectively with children with special needs -Applied the principles of family centered practice by publishing newsletters and brochures for parents -Led children in actions by telling stories, singing songs and preparing creative activities -Engaged in professional self-reflection and development
