Early Childhood Educator in Calgary, Alberta
I'm an
Individual
I am an experienced Early Childhood Educator Assistant, currently in the process of relocating from British Columbia to Calgary. I obtained my Early Childhood Educator Assistant Certificate from Sprott Shaw College in Kamloops, BC. It was a requirement for my Community Support Worker- Social Services Diploma, also taken at Sprott Shaw. Following graduation I chose my own practicum in a family resource centre, where most of my duties revolved around child minding for program participants, and assisting with child care while child development specialists visited regularly to assess children in their growth. I found that I really enjoyed working with children, so I was very fortunate to have had my ECE Assistant Certificate as an option for work. I recently spent six months full-time in a licensed facility, mainly in the Infant/ Toddler room, but often times with the 3-5s. I just finished my second position at another centre. I have experience in program planning, diapering, building relationships with parents, and documenting. I have a passion for working with children, and in the future I do plan to obtain my full ECE ( or level 3)
I have diverse experience working with children with special needs. As most day cares are now, the centres I have worked for have been inclusive. I have had experience with children ranging from 1-7 with fetal alcohol syndrome, and autism spectrum disorder.
