Early Childhood Educator in Kingston, Ontario

*20 years in childcare environments. Completed my ECE Diploma in 2007 *I have experience in Toddler/Preschool and school age licensed day cares, 14 years in current daycare centre. * 1 year Supervisor (covering a maternity leave) in a centre with Toddlers, Preschool, School age and extended Kindergarten children. *Responsible for 4 staff members and approximately 45 families. *Cold calling families from the Kingston Childcare Registry as spaces in the centre became available. *Experience in Program planning and Emergent curriculum depending on the expectations of the centre *Familiar with "How Does Learning Happen" and implementing the four foundations of learning. (Engagement, Expression, Belonging and Well being) *Fee collections and deposits *Understand the Childcare and Early Years Act as well as Health and Safety *CPIC, First Aid/CPR, WHMIS Certified *Front line communication with parents, community members and host school *Familiar with families that require subsidy and how to implement that by staying in contact with the City of Kingston family services. *Maintaining all files required for families, staff and the centre and keeping them updated to satisfy licencing requirements. *Experienced in setting up environments that foster safe, warm, inviting, and fun spaces and activities that are inclusive for a mixed age group, (grade 1 to 6) as well as special needs children. *Experience in ordering supplies for a centre. *Have been a member of the Kingston Frontenac Professional Learning Community for the past 2 years *Continue to stay current through the PLC meetings, workshops, and learning opportunities in the ever changing world of childcare.
