Early Childhood Educator in Orangeville, Ontario

I am writing this letter on behalf of the position to further develop my skills and gain experience. I am a recent graduate from the University of Guelph this past October with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with honours. Since then, I have become a self-published author, publishing my debut fictional novel this past December. Although I do not have experience in this department, my passion is to help adolescents and young adults who are going through difficult circumstances and need mental health support by being someone they can talk to and help meet their needs. Unfortunately, during my years in university, I did not have the opportunity to gain experience due to the pandemic that was ongoing in my educational years. However, I have volunteered with children in classrooms and have worked in retail and customer service, providing me with people skills. I value the interpersonal side of psychology that tries to help individuals one-on-one, as I see it to help those the most. Thus, I wish to broaden and develop skills that can aid me in my passion to become a mental health counsellor or therapist. I also wish to contribute to a healthy and positive work environment, where youth and staff feel comfortable and safe to express themselves in. Many individuals would describe me as very reliable, a good listener, paying attention to small details, responsible, organized, and a multitasker. I also am very caring, friendly, and have good communication skills. I am available Mondays to Fridays starting this coming March, 2024. I hope to be a candidate of interest for this position.
