Early Childhood Educator in Edmonton, Alberta

I have experience with various information databases, documentation inputs, and inventory control management through my work as a developmental assistant, toy librarian assistant, and managing a caseload. Throughout my career I have taken on similar roles to a receptionist/administrator; filing paperwork, corresponding communication, and duplicating resources are a few of the task I was responsible for daily. I have had the opportunity to review, evaluate, and implement new procedures according to policy and procedure expectations. This experience provided me the opportunity to learn and adapt my skills for organization and to become proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. As well, I have confidence when problem solving, planning and implementing solution based practices both with clients and coworkers. Being a support person to children and community partners, as well as a Team Lead and Assistant Director, has allowed me to adapt to shifting priorities and manage time effectively. These roles have also provided the chance to participate in the pre-approval and re-approval of accreditation, licensing, and food safety standards. Throughout my time as an Assistant Director I was able to plan, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures. I had the pleasure of creating two new classrooms from the base up, which allowed for the company to grow and shift priorities based on client and staff input. I was able to create an orientation process, as well as revaluate and draft new and existing handbooks that were not present prior to my start. I am an ambitious person who enjoys opportunities to take on projects and areas of growth for the community I work within.
