Early Childhood Educator in Edmonton, Alberta

I have taught music classes for toddlers and taught preschool classes at the YMCA. I also worked with children between the ages of 3 yrs - 10 yrs while I did summer day camps at the YMCA. During my teaching practicums, I was also required to student teach for 5 weeks within a grade one classroom and 9 weeks within a grade six classroom. On my own time, I have volunteered at 3 different elementary schools and worked with students in various grades between kindergarten and grade six. I have also observed various early education classes during my practicum. During my first teaching practicum I had two autistic students within my class and I was required to create lessons that incorporated their needs as well so they were able to grasp the content. This required me to create differentiation within my lessons. On a personal note, my brother is autistic and I have learned a lot regarding communication with him and how to make adaptations to how we communicate.
