Early Childhood Educator in Calgary, Alberta

I have greatly enjoyed working with children of all ages; as a teacher I have taught grades 2 to 9 and as a mother, I have taught my children up through the various stages to their present elementary ages. I also have extensive volunteering experience at both an elementary school in grades K-4 and at a daycare, ages 2-8. For me, the most important part of my experience is the unique times I have had with each child, creating positive relationships and watching them grow and flourish in their learning. I have a permanent Alberta teaching certificate as well as my daycare certification. I have 6 years experience from Calgary Academy, a private school focusing on learning differences, and another 5 years in a smaller private school also catering to a wide range of learning needs, including ESL. Both schools have given me a wide range of skills that have enabled me to have great success in helping students to open up to their true learning potential -- I believe that all it takes is patience, understanding and the effort to discover a child\'s own way of learning in order to break down learning barriers and allow him or her to truly enjoy learning. Children are innate learners and simply need guidance at times to tap into their full potential.
