Early Childhood Educator in Richmond Hill, Ontario

A recent York University graduate ,my studies in theatre and psychology have given me a unique outlook on caring for children and has propelled me to approach teaching in an artistic manner. I've directed my studies to understand how children develop, taking classes such as drama in education, theatre for young audiences and developmental psychology. I was selected to be an artistic observer at this year’s Wee Festival, a theatre for early years festival run by Theatre Direct and I've created and facilitated workshops for preschool aged children that expand learning through the arts. Working in a daycare setting for 2 years has given me skills in observation, documentation, program planning, and engagement in the children. I've found passion in this line of work. Going into work always puts a smile on my face and puts me in a good mood. Child care is such an important role to take on and it's much bigger than just teaching.
