Early Childhood Educator in Edmonton, Alberta

Hello! My name is Hussanjot, but you can call me Joti because it’s easier. As an American-born, soon-to-be first-class graduate with a BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies from England, I believe I can offer unique services as an ECE due to my thorough knowledge and practical implementation of Early Childhood Education theory. I have volunteered and worked in multiple Early Years roles involving day-care work, supervision, tutoring and supply teaching. I have a thorough knowledge and appreciation of different Early Years philosophies, including Montessori and Reggio, and hope to offer my unique take on both philosophies to enhance the quality of my work. My bachelor’s degree and the level of theory & practice that it involves ensures that I possess practical knowledge of health & safety and general maintenance duties to ensure the running and hygiene of both the children and the center. My previous work in nurseries, tuition centres and schools in England combined with my knowledge of child development theory will ensure that I will be a valuable asset in enabling meaningful play opportunities for children that enhance their well-being and holistic education. The practical requirement of my degree and my work in nurseries also required me to maintain detailed observations and assessments of children against common child developmental standards. I am specifically looking for work in a day-care center or an in-home childcare provider. I hope to work for an employer who holds strong values in the Early Years and puts the child at the forefront of their company. I value teamwork and continuing professional development, and I hope to learn from my colleagues to enhance my own practice. I am looking for full-time work as I do hope to immigrate to beautiful Edmonton permanently and a full-time position in my field of interest will allow me a valuable opportunity to work and contribute to the Early Years! One of the reasons why I chose to study Early Childhood in England is because the early years maintains a strong presence across educational institutions in the UK. All across England, you will find political activists, researchers, educators, professors and children's workers dedicated to the betterment of the early years through tackling contemporary issues in the field, and this was something that I was rarely exposed to while studying in America. My hope is that I can use my practical skills and the wealth of knowledge I gained while studying abroad to enhance the ever-growing Canadian population (children included, of course!) and a growing economy such as Alberta’s.
