I pride myself in creating strong relationships with each child I work with, I use skills like verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening and de-escalation to help children feel heard, empowered and safe while in my care. I have a positive and upbeat energy that helps children relax and have fun in the activities they are doing. I have been told from previous employers that I can work with any age and have skills in making children feel comfortable while they are away from their parents. I have a background in child and youth care which brings forth a deep understanding of the factors children go through while they are developing and how we can actively support them to reach their optimum goals.
