Early Childhood Educator in Maple, Ontario

I have volunteered at Jellybean Academy to supervise toddlers throughout the day, help feed them, put them to sleep, and clean up the environment in between breaks. I have also done co-op for school at an elementary school, where i would help the teacher mark assignments and plan daily activities for the grade 4 class of 28 students. i haven't had much experience with children who have special needs, except for one student in my classroom while I was doing co-op who was not on the same education level as the rest of the students in that class. It took patience and lots of communication for him to understand when it was and when it wasn't appropriate to say certain things. It was a little difficult to have him seated and concentrated on his work, but we would get work done by trying other methods that appealed more to him, such as playing educational games.
