Early Childhood Educator in Brampton, Ontario

I have worked with children aged 5-17 in a variety of settings. I worked as a camp counselor for the City of Brampton with ages 5-14. This included educating children on art, theatre, and film. I volunteered in a girls club organisation as a mentor. It sought to encourage personal growth and development. The ages ranged from grade 1 to grade 11. Lastly, I completed two practicums with high school aged students in art and history. These included grades 9 and 10. As a camp counselor, I encountered many children with special needs ranging from ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Tuberous Sclerosis, and Turrets. I worked along side these campers to allow for a inclusive environment; as well as working with their care workers to ensure that all the campers needs were met. While I was at Harold Brathwaite during my practicum, I worked daily with special needs students by providing exciting and relevant lessons in art.
